Spin a Catboy How to Upgrade Your Base
Empty land earns nothing. This is how to make the plot do the work.
“Upgrade Your Base” is the third line of Mugpugs’ how-to-play list, sitting between collect Catboys and upgrade Catboys on purpose. The Base is the plot you load into, the land other players can see in a six-person server, and the thing Offline Earnings actually read when you log out. If the plot is empty, the rest of the wiki is trivia.
This guide is the land-first plan. Pair it with how to play if you still think Spin a Catboy is a combat game.
Fill every slot before you gold-plate a unit
A common Catboy on the grass beats a Secret in storage. That sentence is the whole early game. Open cheap packs only until every slot has a body on it, then stop. The pack guide explains why further cheap opens are a 1/100,000 trap.
If storage is full and the plot is not, you have a placement problem, not a luck problem. Place, then open. More Storage at 49 Robux is a last resort, not a first click.
Walk the plot after every pack. Incremental HUDs hide a “place best” or tap-to-place prompt. Use it. AFK on an empty pad is how people swear Offline Earnings are broken.
What Base upgrades are for
Plot upgrades usually do one of three jobs:
- Add a slot so you can place another Catboy.
- Multiply income on every unit already placed.
- Unlock a pad, deco, or path that is really just another multiplier in a costume.
Buy extra slots first. Buy multipliers second. Buy cosmetics never, until Secrets are done. If a button is expensive and does not mention cash, slots, or offline, screenshot it and wait for latest updates to explain it.
Base multipliers stack with the Skill Tree and with 2X CASH. They do not stack with a unit that is not placed. Upgrade land, then upgrade the Catboy that is sitting on that land.
Upgrade Catboys after the plot is honest
Once slots are full, spend on the highest earner you can see. Use the Catboy tier list if you cannot tell. Do not spread upgrades evenly like a gardener. Uneven plots are correct.
Sell or store the dead weight. A cute common that pays nothing is a decoration, and decorations do not fund Eclipse packs. The players hub lists rarity bands so you know what “dead weight” means in this game, not in Spin a Kitty.
Social pressure in a six-player server
You will see someone with a louder plot. They may have Mutation Hunter, VIP, and a week of head start. Copy their slot count, not their deco. If they stand AFK, they understood Offline Earnings. If they chain-open trash packs in front of you, they did not understand the Secret rates.
You cannot steal their units. You cannot place on their pads. The only competition is your own 50B target.
A Base session that actually ends
- Collect offline cash.
- Place anything sitting in storage.
- Buy the cheapest extra slot or income node on the plot.
- Upgrade the best placed Catboy once.
- Bank toward a 50B or Eclipse pack.
- Leave while the plot is full.
Redeem codes on a new account before step 2 so the grant has somewhere to land. If Harriet or another community unit drops later, she still needs a pad. Submissions do not come with extra land; see community submissions.
The Base is boring when it is correct. If you are having a thrilling time rearranging units and never collecting, you are interior decorating. Interior decorating does not pay for Secrets.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
What should I upgrade first, Base or Catboys?
The Base. Fill slots and buy plot income before you gold-plate a single unit.
Why am I not earning offline?
Nothing is placed. Offline Earnings read the plot, not the backpack. See offline earnings.
Should I buy More Storage?
Only after the plot is full and you are still overflowing. It costs 49 Robux.
Can I use another player's Base?
No. Servers hold six plots. You only build on yours.
When do I stop upgrading land?
When the next slot costs more than a serious pack attempt. Then hunt Secrets with Eclipse or 50B crates.
